Online directory of language associations/organisations

Α fully searchable directory is intended to facilitate collaboration between professionals from different language teacher associations and other language organisations as well as across different languages, regions and countries. The directory which has a mainly European focus has been compiled by the Language Associations and Collaborative Support (LACS) network, coordinated, among others, by representatives of the International Federation of Language Teacher Associations (FIPLV), the International Federation of French Teachers (FIPF) and the International Association of German Teachers (IDV).

LEND Summer School - 3rd edition - will start on Sunday 26 August in Portonovo (Ancona, Italy). The 4-day school is intended for EFL teachers, teacher trainers and all those involved in language education. It will guide the participants through three main areas: Creativity in foreign language teaching, CLIL and Assessment. Each area will be introduced by a keynote speech (Jane Spiro, Emma Dafouz Milne, James Purpura) and will develop around practical workshops with speakers from all over the world. Special attention has been given in the programme to primary school teachers and CLIL teachers.
The Summer School will be opened by Sarah Breslin, Executive Director of the ECML/Council of Europe in Graz, Austria, with a plenary on "Teaching languages in Europe today: challenge or privilege?".
LEND - lingua e nuova didattica - is an association of teachers of foreign languages and Italian language which is committed to supporting innovation in school education.

Young migrants. Supporting multilingual classrooms






This initiative provides training workshops to help member states ensure access to quality education for migrant learners which will help bridge the attainment gap between these learners and non-migrant pupils - highly developed linguistic competences become key transversal competences to support learning, employability and social cohesion.

Council of Europe Launching Conference: CEFR Companion Volume with New Descriptors (CEFR/CV)



The Education Policy Division of the Council of Europe will organise a conference on 16-17 May 2018, in Strasbourg, France, to launch the CEFR Companion Volume with New Descriptors (CEFR/CV). 
The Launching Conference “Building inclusive societies through enriching plurilingual and pluricultural education” is part of a series of activities to promote and plurilingual and pluricultural education and contribute improving learning and teaching languages with a special focus on The CEFR Companion Volume, as a complement to the existing Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, teaching, assessment (CEFR).
